Day 3, Friday: The Feminist Porn Awards 2014 gala and award ceremony finally took place at the Capitol Event. I was so impressed with the event, the theatre was huge and beautiful. I was welcome by a crew of sexy volunteers and was led to the bar. After going around the crowd and making new contacts, the ceremony began: amazing hosts and dancers, and the first awards. The night was incredible, the venue was awesome and it was amazing to see all these people together, with different backgrounds and styles, but with the same goal and motivation.

After a few drinks and photos here and there, I took a cab and crashed on my bed.

Day 4, Saturday: The Feminist Porn Conference (FPCon) is taking place for the second year in a row in Toronto. It makes sense to take advantage of the FPAs to gather all the people at this time and have a discussion on the challenges of feminist porn.

All sides of the sector were discussed, I attended Jiz Lee and Shine Louise Houston’s conference “More buck for your bang” on how to make money as a filmmaker and be able to live off your passion. Then I went to “Pornographers without borders” with Jennifer Lyon Bell (who’s American but based in Amsterdam”, Miss Naughty from Australia, Ovidie from France and Pandora Blake from the UK. For the day’s last session, I chose to go to the screening of Rhabillage, by Ovidie, about how hard is it for female porn stars to go back to a “normal” life because of society’s prejudice on porn and especially women in this field of work.
The conference lasts two days but unfortunately I’m flying back today so I will miss the second day, but to be honest I am absolutely exhausted, so I will be more productive sipping tomato juice and watching movies on the plane back to Barcelona.

My Toronto adventure is reaching its end, and even though I’m sad to leave this amazingly creative event, I’m also excited to go home and get to work! I have a lot of ideas and the fact that my work was recognized by such an amazing community of people and talents really motivates me to do even more!
