Ever thought about performing in front of the camera? Many of us joke about it, or we record ourselves in the privacy of our own house. However, others actually do take the plunge, some of them thinking it’s going to be a dream job, filled with money, awesome sex and mansions. But porn is a job almost like any other, that’s why these porn stars will teach you everything you need to know. This is Porn 101!

The porn actors you can see in the video, like Stoya, James Deen, Nina Hartley, Xander Corvus and more, give out a series of advice from their own experience, and tell us about what it really is like to be a porn actor. It’s not really a fantasy job as one might think, and it is also the home of many obstacles, dangers and fraud, so the APAC, the ‘Adult Performer Advocacy Committee’, was born. Its goal is to improve safety and and working conditions in the industry, and to give a representation to the performers.
The advice go from legal advice to favorite lube. These are a few of them:
– You need a contract, and you also need to ask your lawyer to read it, before you sign anything
– Bring your own lube if you have preferences.
– “I don’t want to” is a perfectly valid reason not to have sex
– Be careful with STDs and don’t hesitate to get checked.
I think it’s great that we see porn actors as regular, professional people, which they actually are! It’s great to have an insight from the daily life of adult performers, and to see them as a united community that cares about the people in it and provide a support system in a field that is filled with doubts, dangers and prejudices.
