Tattoos & Sex III – The Broken Circle Breakdown

Scroll this

Last week I began writing posts about how tattoos and sex make a hot couple, you can check it out here and here. Well today, I have found another clip that is really hot. It’s taken from the Belgian mainstream film The Broken Circle Breakdown, released last year and directed by Felix Van Groeningen.

The Broken Circle Breakdown, a simply beautiful atmosphere

Elise (Veerle Baetens) and Didier (Johan Heldenbergh) fall in love at first sight. He’s a romantic atheist, she’s a religious realist. They move out of the trailer and into an old farmhouse when Elise gets pregnant. Their baby girl, Maybelle, becomes seriously ill, and their lives are dramatically changed.

Elise works at a tattoo parlor, and Didier plays Bluegrass music. Bluegrass is actually very present throughout the whole film. It gives it a very spicy / vintage touch which makes it even more heartfelt, simple and beautiful.

What I like so much about this scene, is that it has a very special atmosphere, and the tattoos are part of it. It’s kind of a mix between deep old and modern America, besides, the film is made of flashbacks, which blend really well in order to create this cotton-like sensation.

This scene shows that the two characters are really passionate about each other. They just want to be together, and the pleasure they feel looks genuine and authentic. The whole film has a very sweet, warm, yet dramatic feel, which we can see in this specific scene. See for yourself!
