Bondage, and BDSM altogether, are often mistaken for an oppressive, marginal sexual form, but over the past year, I have learned that it’s actually filled with pleasure, patience, trust, and yeah… a bit of pain. ROPE is the second documentary filmed by photographer and independent filmmaker Eric Minh Swenson in California.
ROPE – Beauty and Pleasure
The film features model Veronica Sixxx who explains to us what she feels when she’s bound, and why she loves it, and Damon Pierce, rope artisan, bondage rigger and BDSM educator who has worked with Andrew Blake, Dave Naz and more. The goal of the film is to show the real colors of bondage, and focus on the “intricate beauty and ornate process of rope bondage as art and liberation from sexual norms”.
The film is not finished yet, it will be filmed throughout Los Angeles this year, so stay tuned!
